What do we believe? Norris Hill is committed to glorify God through the salvation of souls, equipping Christians by true teaching of God’s Word, and together sharing God’s saving grace expressed in the shed blood and finished work of the Lord Jesus at Calvary. Our mission is to enable and equip followers of Jesus Christ for ministering to a lost world. We want to be a home of worship and fellowship for those who believe and follow Jesus Christ.
Together, we challenge people to consider the Christian faith and think about issues in their life in light of Scripture. People who are sincere in their stance will have questions and maybe some objections. However, we want to provide honest and intelligent answers to these questions in a humbling and caring manner. We expect that our services will be made up of people at various points on life’s journey – the convinced, the confused, the uncertain, and the skeptic. We welcome the diversity and value each opportunity to share the Truth. The Bible is for everyone to study as freely as they want.
At some level everyone realizes that they are broken, incomplete, or unfulfilled in their life. Some try to “fix” this by being the best moral person they can be. Others try to gain the greatest amount of intelligence that the world has to offer. And still others try to satisfy themselves with material items such as money, drugs, power, and cars. Yet, there is only one way to “fix” this problem and that is to establish a relationship with God. It is the good news of the gospel that reveals the living and dynamic connection we can have with God. Real healing and wholeness are provided through Jesus, the only Son of God.
When a person begins a relationship with Jesus Christ, major changes in character and perspective result. At Norris Hill, we encourage this growth in several ways: First, we lead people into the presence of God by providing a worshipful atmosphere in singing beloved Hymns, praying together, and hearing the Word faithfully preached. This proclaimed Word is the center of our worship service. We sincerely hope your time with us will be spent in praise, prayer, personal reflection, and response to God’s Word.
Second, we encourage people to take part in our Sunday evening and Wednesday evening services. At these services people meet to study God’s word and pray together. It is a setting that helps create friendships and provide personal growth. Other means by which we encourage one to grow spiritually include our Sunday school and one-on-one discipleship.
