With his grandfather Salim running the largest sawmill in South America starting in the year 1940, Flavio grew up in a world of wealth, business expertise, political connections, and success generally. As the president of Grandfood, Flavio Maluf states that the Brazilian agribusiness balance (opposite of what the non-farm payroll would be in America), was released for June’s figures. Contrary to NFP which shows the change in percentage of goods sold in America which aren’t related to farming goods, the “Brazilian agribusiness balance” itself represents the amount of sales which are only coming from agriculture. Since this time last year, Brazil’s June number has been reported at 9.21 billion U.S. Dollars. This makes up around 45% of all Brazilian exports. Of this 45%, around 53% of that is from the exporting of soy-related goods.
As far as business advice is concerned, Flavio does have something to offer. His advice to the world is that creating your own business and making it successful is definitely not as easy as it first appears. Success requires massive amounts of effort, and doesn’t pay out right from the start. A common misconception which lots of people have is that they will require massive sums of dollars to get going. Interestingly enough, he states that great starting capital isn’t necessarily a prerequisite in order to make a successful venture come to life; There exists an overflow of venture capitalists who are willing and able to initiate creative and successful ideas which have proven early signs of profitability.
